Nov 07, 2017

Doha, November 2017 – SNS, a leading provider of consultancies and solutions for supply chain, is proud to announce that it has successfully upgraded the Infor SCE Warehouse Management Solution (WMS), used at the warehouses of Ali Bin Ali (ABA) Group’s Logistics division in Qatar, to the latest version.

About the Project

Doha, November 2017 – SNS, a leading provider of consultancies and solutions for supply chain, is proud to announce that it has successfully upgraded the Infor SCE Warehouse Management Solution (WMS), used at the warehouses of Ali Bin Ali (ABA) Group’s Logistics division in Qatar, to the latest version.

With the majority of FMCG products in Qatar passing through ABA Logistics’ warehouses, the WMS is core to the distribution business. After an initial go-live in 2005 as well as various smaller engagements over the years to provide continuous improvement, ABA Group took the decision to further invest in their WMS application for the Logistics division.

Having assessed the latest version of Infor SCE, its capabilities, technology platform and its ability to cater to its needs, ABA asked SNS to go ahead with the upgrade in February 2016 with the objective to go live by May 2017.

SNS consultants took the opportunity to provide valuable insight into the overall warehouse operations, focusing heavily on the outbound process, the most critical for a distribution warehouse. The solution was configured to automatically determine the number of picking supports needed to complete order preparations, an easy segregation between smaller orders to be picked in a cluster mode and large orders to be treated individually as well as a system-driven guidance for pickers to the various outbound staging locations.

Running parallel to the version upgrade, SNS also provided ABA’s Logistics division with a redesign of the integration setup as they are changing the ERP provider. The new interfaces have been fully tested with the new Oracle EBS ERP.

“We have always trusted the SNS team, their knowledge of warehousing and their experience in WMS implementations,” said Jon Mayson, General Manager of ABA Logistics. “Their recommendations throughout the project were key to the success of this upgrade and to ensuring it generated an added value to our operation.”

“SNS’ strong understanding of integration between systems has been crucial to this project, knowing that we are changing the ERP soon after the upgrade”, said Youssef Moussa, General Manager of IT at ABA Group. “SNS’ technical team made sure to provide a solution for both environments, ensuring minimal impact to the logistics operation.”

“We see our customers as partners to our success,” added Mario Ghosn, General Manager of SNS. “Our relationship with ABA Group goes back for more than a decade now and we look forward to a continuous collaboration with their team.
