About the Project

Al Khobar, August 26, 2014 - SNS, the leading provider of supply chain consultancies and solutions in the Gulf and the Middle-East is proud to announce the completion of a consultancy for the redesign of Sara Groups’ warehousing network in Saudi Arabia.

Sara Groups is a group of companies widely diversified in the marketing and distribution of FMCG products, Luxury Items, Personal Care & Household Product, Cosmetics, Watches as well as Fashion & Advertising items.

Given their increasing storage and distribution needs, Sara Groups decided to revise their current warehousing network in order to identify the most suitable model that will ensure highest service levels while maintaining costs at a minimum for years to come.

Based on their strong knowledge of supply networks and their unique experience in the Saudi market, the SNS team of experts developed various models applicable to Sara Group’s operations and compared them in terms of service level objectives and financial impact. To do so, they collected information relating to supply and demand points, current network, critical cost elements, customers’ requirements and other relevant factors to Sara Group. The data collected was scrutinized and thoroughly analyzed to determine the costs of the various models and their benefits versus drawbacks.

“We were easily able to identify the advantages and disadvantages of the various models presented and SNS’s analysis has been of great help in helping us decide on the best way forward for our warehousing” said Mr. David Lankaster supply chain group general manager of Sara Groups. I am confident in SNS’s ability to assist us with future warehouse management and design matters.”

“One of the main challenges faced by the SNS team was to find a diverse and adaptive solution to multiple business units, each with its own product range and to changing storage requirements”, said Emile Bassil, Manager of Consulting Services at SNS. “We are pleased to have been of service to Sara Group and look forward to supporting them on new requirements”.
