About the Project

Beirut, January 2018 – SNS, a leading provider of supply chain consultancies and software solutions, is proud to announce it has completed a warehouse assessment consultancy at Librairie Antoine, a leading bookstore and publishing firm in Lebanon.

Librairie Antoine operates 15 owned bookstores in Lebanon along with an online shopping platform that caters for local and international orders as well as distributes books and press to the majority of bookstores in the country. It operates out of a centralized DC in the suburbs of Beirut for which they entrusted SNS to assess and optimize the flow of operations. Librairie Antoine’s main focus was to streamline their processes and eliminate redundant tasks in order to increase productivity.

The study covered the warehouse infrastructure, the processes, the people and the systems. It also considered potential future facilities.

By analysing the flow of goods, SNS was able to identify a number of bottlenecks and propose solutions aiming at reducing the time it takes for goods to be received into the warehouse and consequently reducing the waiting time before the goods can be delivered to the market. SNS also managed to provide alternative solutions to enhance the picking process thus increasing the picking accuracy and subsequently the order fulfilment rate. SNS highlighted to Librairie Antoine the infrastructural gaps and proposed modifications with a goal to reducing the risk of injury in the workspace and increasing the warehouse storage capacity.

“We chose SNS because they are a consulting company that is specialized in the supply chain industry with extensive market experience” said Elie Hashem, Librairie Antoine’s Operations Manager. “The team was quickly able to understand the complexities and bottlenecks of our industry and provided practical solutions that would help us improve the efficiency of our warehouse and optimize our delivery methods."

“SNS is always happy to add a new vertical to its portfolio as this increases the team’s industry knowledge.” said Mario Ghosn, SNS General Manager. “Even though we hadn’t handled many similar projects, our team’s global expertise allowed us to quickly get the grip on the operations' particularities and align Librarie Antoine’s processes with Best Practices.”
