GWC First in the Middle East

to Upgrade to INFOR WMS 10.2

May 22, 2014

The Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC), with the support of SNS, has completed the implementation of the INFOR WMS, an Enterprise Warehouse Management System geared at automating and optimizing its client base of over 450 customers under third party and fourth party logistics services, under an umbrella of over 250,000 square meters of built-up facilities.

About the Project

GWC is the first logistics company in the Middle East to implement the latest version 10.2 of INFOR, including a fully customized Billing Module that allows for flexible contract arrangements with customers in a wide variety of business verticals.

When searching for the right system, GWC contacted SNS, a leading provider of supply chain consultancies and solutions in the Middle-East and the company with the largest number of successful WMS implementations in the Gulf. SNS had already provided the Infor solution for many key 3PL players in the region.

With hundreds of thousands of stored items under GWC warehousing, GWC needed a powerful WMS to seamlessly capture inventory attributes and automate the warehouse processes, benefit from paperless RF wireless handhelds, and retain full traceability of their goods from point of receiving to point of shipping from the warehouse.

With over 10,000 received and shipped lines per day, the WMS operates in real-time and allows customers to have inventory information on their computers or smartphones at the touch of a button. SNS has also provided a middleware for GWC to integrate the WMS with any customer ERP as and when required.

“SNS extensive skills in warehousing and WMS solutions as well as their reliable support were critical to the success of our project,” said Mr. Nader Hakim, Chief Operating Officer, GWC. “We see this partnership as one of the vital pillars of our 3PL operation.”

“We are to partner once again with a 3PL leader in the Gulf,” said Mohammed Obaidah, Director of Services of SNS. “We thank GWC for their trust in our team whose skills are the reason of our continued success.”
